🤠🐯 YEEHAW, PRE-K FAMILIES! IT’S ALMOST TIME! 🐯🤠

We are so excited to welcome our newest little Tigers to Shady Spring Elementary School for the 2026–2027 school year!

🌵 PRE-K ORIENTATION 🌵
📅 August 24th
⏰ 1:00–2:00 PM
📍 Shady Spring Elementary School

Orientation will be a chance for our Pre-K families to meet their child’s teacher and learn important information about the upcoming school year.

Here’s what you can expect:

🤠 Parent Information Time: Pre-K teachers will meet with parents/guardians to go over important information, procedures, and what to expect this year.

🐯 While Parents Meet: Classroom aides may take students for a short walk around the school, outside to play, or to explore the school while teachers meet with parents.

🏫 Classroom Visit: A small portion of orientation will be spent in the classroom so our little Tigers can see their classroom, meet their teacher, and begin getting comfortable in their new surroundings.

Children are welcome to attend orientation, but they do not have to attend. Parents are welcome to come without their child if that works best for their family.

🤠 A QUICK NOTE ABOUT OUR STAGGERED START:
Raleigh County Schools will be using a staggered start for Pre-K:

⭐ August 31: Half of the class will attend
⭐ September 1: The other half of the class will attend
⭐ September 2: Everyone will be together! 🎉

Your child’s teacher will let you know which day your child will attend during Orientation on August 24th.

We can’t wait to meet our newest Shady Spring Tigers and kick off a wildly wonderful year! 🌵🤠🐯💙💛

ANOTHER REASON TO CHOOSE SHADY SPRING ELEMENTARY!

We’re excited to offer something that makes life a little easier for our families: an AccessHealth School-Based Clinic right here at Shady Spring Elementary!

Because when your child needs healthcare, you shouldn’t always have to leave work, leave school, or make an extra trip across town- especially with that traffic! Our school-based clinic brings quality healthcare right to our Tigers!

We are so excited to welcome Shae Criswell, PA-C, our AccessHealth School-Based Clinic Physician Assistant! This will be Shae’s third year serving as a school-based provider, and we’re thrilled to have her caring for our students and staff.

Parents: Want your child to be able to use the clinic?
You MUST complete the consent form before your child can be seen. **Please note, a new form is required EACH year.**

👉 Complete the consent form online:
https://form.jotform.com/252035216535147
Paper copies of the consent form will be available during Open House or at the school.

This is just ONE MORE WAY Shady Spring Elementary works to support the whole child and make life a little easier for our families!

School Counseling Week is a timely reminder of the quiet, essential work happening in our schools every day.

This week, we recognize and thank our school counselors for the critical role they play in supporting students’ academic growth, social-emotional well-being, and future planning. Counselors are often the first to notice when a student is struggling—and the steady presence that helps them navigate challenges both inside and outside the classroom.

From individual student support and crisis response to academic advising and career guidance, your work matters more than most people realize—and it truly changes lives.

If you see a school counselor today, take a moment to thank them.

Thank you to our school counselors for your compassion, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to students. Our schools are stronger because of you.
